Online ordering for restaurants: make your own order page the one people find
We don't sell an ordering system. We work on what sends people to the one you have: searches for your name, the order link on your Google Business Profile, your menu, and pages for pickup, delivery, catering and gift cards.
First, what this page is not
We don't sell a restaurant online ordering system. We get yours found
Search "restaurant online ordering system" and you get software: POS add-ons, standalone direct ordering apps, website builder plug-ins, storefronts run by the delivery apps. Several do the job well. Pick the one that fits your kitchen and budget; we don't sell or resell any of them.
No ordering system gets found on its own. A new order page starts with no links and no search history, while the apps may have had a page with your name on it since you signed up. So a guest who knows you searches your name, taps the first result and orders through an app. Online ordering SEO, part of our restaurant SEO work, makes that first order link yours.
Search: [your name] order onlinePhone
Before
- 1. Delivery app: your restaurant, "order now"
- 2. A second delivery app
- 3. A review site
- 4. yourname.com, home page, "Welcome"
What we work toward
- 1. Your Business Profile, with your own order link
- 2. yourname.com/order, pickup and delivery
- 3. Delivery app listing
An illustration, not a real search. Google sets the order, and it changes with the device and the place.
Searches for your own name
When people search your name, the first order link should be yours
The searches that matter most have your name in them: "[your name] order online", "[your name] menu", "[your name] delivery". That person has already picked you. If an app listing sits above your site for those words, you pay a commission on an order that was coming to you anyway.
An app can outrank you for your own name for plain reasons: years of links, and a page with your name and "order online" in its title. Your home page says "Welcome", and the order button jumps to another address. We work on it from four sides:
- An order page on your site, titled with your name, "order online", pickup and delivery, linked from every page.
- The website, menu and order links on your Business Profile pointed at your pages.
- Yelp, Apple Maps, Bing and your other listings linking to your site.
- Each month's guest posts and Web 2.0 pages linking to your order and menu pages.
You may not beat every app for every spelling of your name. The aim is that the first order link a regular sees is yours.

The order button on your Business Profile
Google can show your own order link, delivery partners, or both. We add yours where Google offers the field, point the menu link at your menu page and recheck both monthly. Which options show is Google's call.
03
Menu pages that link to ordering
A PDF or photo menu gives Google little to read and a guest nothing to tap. A text menu page per location, each section linking to that section of your ordering system, can match searches like "chicken shawarma plate".
04
Pickup and delivery area pages
People search from where they are: "pizza delivery [neighborhood]". A page per area you really deliver to, with the zone, minimum and usual wait, and a pickup page with parking and the right door.
05
Catering and large orders
Catering is searched days ahead: "office lunch catering [town]", "taco bar for 40". A line at the bottom of the menu won't rank for that. A catering page with packages, head counts, lead time and an order link can.
06
Gift cards
Someone buying a present searches "[your name] gift card". A page linking to your system's gift card checkout, linked from the menu and footer and live well before the holidays, catches it.
Page changes come as a written list. We can write the pages on a content plan (from $26 a month) or rebuild the site through restaurant website design. The profile work behind the order button is on local SEO for restaurants.

Let the apps find strangers. Serve your regulars direct
The apps are good at what a restaurant website struggles with: reaching people who have never heard of you. They bring the audience, the drivers and the checkout, and for a first order from a stranger the commission can be a fair price.
It turns against you with the regular who orders every Friday: they searched your name, and the app still takes its cut. We don't tell anyone to leave the apps; we make the direct route easy to find for guests who already know you. Email and text campaigns that bring regulars back aren't ours to run; the restaurant marketing agency page covers where they fit.
Direct has costs too: processing, system fees, drivers. Whether a shift pays depends on your commission, order count and average ticket, so we don't quote commission rates. The app commission calculator works it out from your own figures.

Proof, labeled plainly
The closest result we have published: food people order online
We haven't published a restaurant case study and won't dress one up. This is a fruit and vegetable delivery business in Singapore, on our Platinum package from October 2024 to January 2025: customers find it on Google and order online, the path you want for your order page.
It started with almost no organic visibility in a crowded online grocery market. The work targeted purchase-intent searches, the ones people type when ready to buy. Organic traffic rose 50x, with top rankings for 500+ commercial keywords and a substantial increase in sales.

FAQ
What owners ask about direct orders
Paying for sponsored spots inside the apps instead? Restaurant advertising compares that with search. For the reviews beside your order button, see restaurant reputation management.
What is the best online ordering system for a restaurant?
The one that fits your POS, your menu and your costs. We don't sell any, so we have no brand to push. Before you sign, ask if the order page sits on your own domain, if you can link to one menu section, if you keep the customer list and what each order costs you. Those answers shape the search work more than the brand does.
Can my own website outrank the delivery apps for my restaurant's name?
It can, with time, though nobody can promise it. Searches with your name in them are the ones your own site has the best chance of winning, because Google is looking for you. An order page titled with your name, profile links pointing to it, matching listings and links from other sites all help. An app may still show for some phrasings.
Is commission-free online ordering really free?
Free of commission is not the same as free. Read the pricing page: there may be a monthly subscription, card processing, a per-order fee or a fee the guest pays at checkout. That may still cost you less than an app commission on your regulars, or not, depending on volume. The app commission calculator has a field for direct ordering costs.
Can I put my own order link on Google?
Where Google offers the option, yes. The Business Profile has fields for a menu link and, for restaurants, ordering links. Google may also show ordering options from delivery partners, and it decides which appear and in what order. We set your own links, check them every month and make sure your website link leads to a page where a guest can order.
Do you work with other restaurants near us?
We may, and we would rather say so now. We don't sell exclusive areas, so two places on the same street could both be clients. Each client's keywords, data, reports and plans stay with that client and are never shared with another restaurant, nearby or not.
